Responsible Gaming

This page covers practical habits for keeping gambling under control, what this site can and cannot do for someone who wants to stop, and where the independent help links are.

This Site Cannot Set Controls for You

This site is a set of static pages with no account, no form and no server-side application. Nothing published here can switch on, check or enforce any control on your gambling.

  • Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are things you arrange inside your own account at the destination you play on.
  • Nobody's age is verified here, and no gambling takes place on this site. Any check of that kind happens at the destination.
  • No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Independent Help Is Linked on Every Page

Every page of this site, this one included, carries links to six independent gambling-help organisations:

  • BeGambleAware
  • Gamble Aware
  • Gambling Therapy
  • G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
  • GAM STOP
  • NCPG

These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking. They are set to nofollow and open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow them.

Adults Only Applies Throughout

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated across this site, including on the front page.

  • If you are under 18, do not follow the operator links.

A Fixed Budget Keeps Losses Predictable

These habits work because they set your decisions before emotion has a chance to make them.

  • Decide the amount before starting. A limit chosen in advance is made with a clear head. A limit chosen mid-session is shaped by whether you are winning or losing.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. If you count it as the cost of entertainment, losing it does not feel like a debt you need to recover.
  • Never chase a loss. The odds do not change after a loss. Raising stakes to win money back only enlarges the next loss.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Credit turns a bounded loss into repayments and interest that last well beyond the session.

Breaks and Other People Help You Notice Problems Early

Losing track of time and money usually happens gradually, so build in ways to notice it.

  • Take regular breaks. Stepping away interrupts the momentum of repeated play and gives you a moment to check your spending against your plan.
  • Involve someone else early. When gambling stops feeling like entertainment, tell someone you trust or contact one of the organisations above. Another person can spot patterns that are hard to see from the inside.
